Welcome to Melt Fitness!

Thank you for visiting my page. The concept for Melt Fitness began as an idea in 2007, inspired by the vision of helping people shed weight, old habits, and previous versions of themselves. The name "Melt Fitness" symbolizes the transformation process, making way for a healthier, improved version of oneself. Through personalised training and engaging group classes, I contribute to your fitness journey by helping you feel good about yourself through exercise, promoting confidence, and fostering a positive, active lifestyle.

Hailing from ÅŒtautahi (Christchurch), Aotearoa (New Zealand), with a mixed Pacific Island heritage, I bring over 15 years of fitness experience to help you achieve your health goals.

My background includes teaching various programs like Les Mills, City Fitness, MOSSA, and aerobics globally, along with dance styles such as Hip Hop, Latin, and Brazilian Samba.

As a youngster I was always very active, participating in volleyball, netball and athletics, and heavily influenced and inspired by a family of avid boxers, bodybuilders and traditional dancers, I joined Les Mills gym at 17, where my passion for fitness flourished. Overcoming my initial intimidation of the weights room, I became one of the few females training there regularly which led to competing in my first bodybuilding competition and placing 3rd.  This was an incredible achievement, but post-competition weight gain and unhealthy dieting spiralled out of control and I gained over 20 kgs going from a size 8 to 14/16 in just a few months. I had no idea how to shed the weight, and this taught me valuable lessons about sustainable fitness. It took nearly two years of hard work and healthier lifestyle choices to get back on track, eventually leading to 1st place successes in bodybuilding with proper guidance and support both pre and post competition.

Eager to help others facing similar struggles, I studied at the NZ College of Fitness, earning my REPs-certified Personal Training and Group Fitness qualifications. My career then spanned various gyms, teaching diverse classes and training clients where I gained the knowledge and skills in designing and delivering personalized training programs tailored to individual client needs.

After a move to the UK and starting a family, the dream of bringing Melt Fitness to life took the back seat. Then 10 years later lockdown hit, and it had me thinking about my passion for Fitness. I then re-trained and expanded my qualifications to enhance my experience and repertoire. Melt Fitness finally came to fruition!

Having always worked for large commercial gyms where people were readily available to train, moving to a new country and starting my own small business was a significant step out of my comfort zone, and not being local brings its own challenges. Nobody knows me, so I continue to work hard to build my brand and establish myself within the community.  As someone who is naturally shy, this journey has taught me to be fearless and has instilled a confidence in me that I never knew I possessed. It has also taught me the importance of perseverance and connection.

Getting fit doesn't mean spending hours in the gym - trust me I've been there and it's NOT the one!  I love the simplicity of training where you can still balance work, life and family. As a busy mum of 3, I get it - I believe that moments are precious, and it's important to take time to appreciate every aspect of life. Recognise that incorporating exercise into your routine will enhance these experiences, enriching your journey and allowing you to fully enjoy each moment.

If you're struggling with weight loss, unsure where to start, or simply want to get fitter and healthier, I’m here to help you smash your fitness goals. Remember, healthy comes in all shapes and sizes. Focus on your journey and keep climbing!

Let’s achieve your fitness dreams together!
